Requests/Demands:
1. Let UpWork clients know that workers are paying to apply. Educate them on good, clear posts that answer all questions, and encourage them to close jobs as soon as possible so extra people don’t waste their money on a closed opportunity.
2. Recourse for workers against bad clients: zero tolerance for job scams where “clients” charge $70 to apply, claiming it’s a deposit. In addition, one negative job review should not destroy your business on the platform.
3. Until your AI customer service bot actually works, have humans do customer service.
4. Companies like Anthropic and Open.AI should have a sliding scale for GenAI coding tools, so everyone has equal access to opportunity.
