So TODAY, because I use AI, I did this:
I went to the Los Alamos budget meeting in person and used the Marla-AI.ai budget question app successfully. It’s free, it works and you can use it tonight or tomorrow, as the budget talks continue.

This capability is available today for personal use (not a group chat yet) through the link above, allowing anyone to explore the budget and prepare concise, informed comments.
The concept art above would be a group version (which it looks like we can build in a few weeks.) What’s important is that you can do this with any document –so say you have a 200 page technical document about infrastructure – and you’re having a meeting to discuss it. In advance or real time, you can simply query the document in advance, using natural language, and then if the information isn’t there, it can help you articulate your questions.
Press release:
The Dusoma Foundation is piloting a new way to engage with public budgets using Marla-AI.AI, a document-grounded AI assistant designed to help residents quickly understand complex materials like the Los Alamos 2027 budget. In live use, the system can surface clear, cited answers in seconds and help frame precise, fact-based questions. During a recent meeting, it enabled faster and more accurate understanding than typical real-time discussion alone.
A shared, real-time group experience (concept art above) is in development, where participants will be able to see and build on each other’s questions. The goal is straightforward: make it easier for the public to engage, understand, and participate using verified information.
