Dusoma Launches First-Ever Public Explorer of California Foundations That Fail to File IRS Reports
Los Alamos, NM – Dusoma Ltd has released a proof-of-concept tool that allows the public to search, filter, and explore private foundations across California, focusing on those that have not filed their required IRS Form 990 tax returns in 2023 and 2024.
This tool is a first step in a larger mission: uncovering how some of the wealthiest organizations hoard resources while 500 million people starve.
What the Data Shows
From our California dataset, the results are startling:
- The median asset level reported was just $93.59.
- The median income was a mere $55.62.
- Many foundations reported no meaningful grant activity—raising the possibility that they exist largely on paper or for the benefit of insiders.
- The average amount raised in California was around $50.
This paints a picture of a philanthropic sector where thousands of “foundations” are functionally inactive or self-serving, while the global humanitarian crisis worsens.
Why This Matters
Philanthropy is supposed to be a force for good. Yet our findings suggest widespread inactivity, opacity, and potential self-dealing. Dusoma believes the public deserves transparency. By making this information open and searchable, we shine light into a system that too often hides in plain sight.
An Invitation
The Dusoma Foundation Squeezer is a prototype. Imperfect, incomplete, but powerful as a proof-of-concept. We now invite the world to help us take it further.
Dusoma is convening an open source community of developers, researchers, and activists who want to:
- Fund worthy causes, not personal empires
- Hold private donations accountable
- Use data and transparency to confront greed
If you are ready to help, we invite you to contact us and join a developer meeting. Together we can transform this prototype into a global tool for accountability and justice.
