How is this quantum?

It’s not yet, and it will mean different things, depending on what you’re looking for.

However, in the work Fight Club 2.5, there is this discussion about Theory of Addiction and Recovery Through Time Travel

There are three versions of you:

The past version of you is Past You
The present version of you – You Right Now
The future version – Future You

And they aren’t always friends, you betray each other. Example: a coffee maker with a timer.

You love waking up to fresh coffee at 7:00 AM, but you hate preparing the coffee first thing in the morning, tired in the cold kitchen. You wish it was ready at 6:45 – so you buy a machine with a timer. You wake up, stumble into the kitchen half asleep, and the coffee is already waiting for you. It’s magical.

But after a week, you stop, it’s 11 PM, you blow off setting up the coffee for the a.m.. The next morning you’re back to the cold kitchen floor, waiting miserably and thinking:
“I wish past me hadn’t been lazy and would have spent 2 minutes last night setting up the coffee.”

You eat the cake because Future-You will deal with the consequences.
You avoid the hard thing because Future You will deal with it.
In the moment, you think “Screw Future Me”.

But eventually, you become the future version of yourself that you sold out.

The theory is simple:
Recovery begins when you start treating Future You with respect, when Future You gets a seat at the table for decision making. You stop saying “screw Future Me” – because in Recovery Time Travel, you channel Future You, cold in the kitchen – and Future You says “listen bitch, YOU are going to be ME in 12 hours and YOU are actually the one who is going to be cold and regretful.” Whether it’s hungover, fat, ashamed (pick your poision) – you let the suffering Future You beg you to think of them.

It works in reverse: Future You time travels BACK in time to confront You Right Now, speaking truth, demanding they treat you with care because there will be a moment where you pay the price for this choice.  YOU will be suffering in real time, very soon. This Future You you’re betraying will be You Right Now at some point.

The entire cycle becomes a conversation between different versions of yourself across time. You are a time traveler, moving forward through time and space.

Recovery, then, is cooperation between past You, You Right Now, and Future You. A tango between the person you are right now and the malleable destiny of the person you are to become.

That is the theory of addiction and recovery through time travel.
